The rainbows in my life

About 6:30 this evening the girls came running in from outside yelling "Mom, Mom, there's a rainbow, there's a rainbow!" There was indeed a rainbow. They each wanted me to take a picture of them with the rainbow. My first inclination was to say no, not right now, because I was in the middle of making dinner and tidying up a few things. Greg went out with some friends to see a comedian and I was missing him being around at this time of the evening. (Now, lest you think, poor Angie--Greg left her home with the kids while he went out--that is not the case. Just Monday night, I left him home with the kids while I went out with friends to see Bon Jovi in concert!) The words of Elder Ballard this last conference were ringing in my ears as I was thinking this. Not that I am a YOUNG mother, but I am a mother of young children. I loved how he quoted author Anna Quindlen who said she wished she "had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less."
So I put my "get it done" inclination aside, and enjoyed looking at the beautiful rainbow with my girls, and let them enjoy posing for the camera with it in the background. Even as I write this, my sweethearts (who are supposed to be in bed) have been in to see me at least three times. They are very scared of thunderstorms and hail, which it will more than likely do tonight. They wanted to be reassured that they could come and get in bed with me and Greg (when he gets home) if they got too scared (which they always do). I never mind when they do, but I will try to enjoy them being close, and wanting to be with us when they are scared a little more. They are the rainbows in my life and I am going to make every effort to enjoy the doing more than than the getting it done!

Masquerade Ball

I got invited to a masquerade ball hosted by a builder that I like and have sold a couple of homes for. Greg had a scout campout/training tonight and could not go with me, so it was a girls night out for me and my friend Jeanette! The party was not exactly what I thought it would be, but it was great to visit with Jeanette and very interesting to people watch! This builder gave away TONS of cash prizes--but we didn't win any! Maybe we will have better luck at their next function later in the year!

Friday Flashback

This Cougarette picture was taken in late 1985, or early 1986, I just can't remember exactly when. They used to put these pictures in the BYU football game programs, and on various other marketing material around campus such as posters for Cougarette Review, etc. One of my roommates my second year at BYU was Kristin M., just to my left in this picture. My other roommates that year were also Cougarettes, and one was a cheerleader, so we had quite the schedule going in our apartment! SUPER fun to be involved with Cougarettes for a couple of years at BYU!

Happy Birthday Greg!!

Happy birthday to my wonderful husband Greg! I few of the things I love about Greg are:
-He is a terrific husband. Very attentive to my needs. Full of compliments for me. Makes me feel beautiful and loved.
-He is a great dad. Cares deeply for his girls. Takes time to snuggle them, play with them, talk with them about their feelings, desires and interests.
-He cares about others and will drop anything he is doing to help someone in need.
-He expresses his feelings and cares about the feelings of others.
-He doesn't watch too much sports.
-He doesn't complain about what I make for dinner, even if it comes from a box. AND, he does the dishes after dinner!

Greg is also known as:
-Babe
-Dear
-Son (he and his brother call each other son)
-Gregga
-Greff
-Daddy
-Fun-in-law (my dad calls all his son-in-laws "fun"-in-laws)
-Ginghis

Happy birthday Babe! I love you!!!

Friday Flashback

This is a photo of Greg and his family--not sure of the year. They lived on their sailboat, the Fiestero, at the San Diego yacht club for several months! Kudos to my inlaws for being able to live with their family in such small quarters!

I've only just begun....

Spring cleaning!! I haven't even touched the toys, kitchen, and master closet! We have so much junk around here that we don't use/need! It feels great to get rid of it!

Greg has now taken a load to FFS, but I'm afraid that is just the first of many!
