Lunch with friends

My friend Kimberly was in town so a few of us got together for lunch! It was so much fun! We really miss seeing Kim and her darling family. It was great to visit and catch up a bit! I know without a doubt that she has great friends in Omaha, but we sure would love to see her back in the Lone Star State!
We all made a trip to Sam Moon for some cheap chic accessories after lunch! Greg must've called me 3 or 4 times asking where I was and what I could possibly be doing for so long--he just doesn't get it! When women get together for lunch, chatting, and shopping.....who knows when we'll be home! Thanks Kim for a great afternoon! It truly was great to see you!

Susanna's visit to the "Farm"

My dad always called the home where we grew up and where he and my mom still live "the farm." It isn't really a farm, but a wonderful home full of even more wonderful memories, and a great place to visit and have a lot of fun! My kids take turns going to stay with Mama Leslie and Grandpappy . They LOVE getting to go by themselves to spend precious time with their grandparents! I did this with my grandparents growing up and have the most wonderful and treasured memories of being completely SPOILED by my Mama Judy and Papa. I am so grateful to my parents for taking the time to spend with my kids and making special memories that will last a lifetime!!

Susanna was the first to go this summer. Here are a few highlights of her visit:

Happy Birthday to our Twinkies!

Natalie and Samantha turned 9 today! Happy Birthday to our sweet girls! I told the girls stories tonight from when they were babies in the hospital and it just made me happy all over! And a little bit sad. They are growing up. Sometimes I wish we could freeze our little family just the way it is right now. Well, minus the fighting and bugging each other. Not too old, and not too young, but just right.

I just can't do the sleep over thing, and frankly I'm not sure if I will EVER be able to it. So Natalie and Samantha had a "late over" party on Saturday night. We had pizza, games, and a movie, then girls were picked up around 9:30. It was a little crazy but the girls had a great time. Greg prefers nice quiet evenings, so this really wasn't his cup of tea. He was a great errand boy for the party, photographer, and even helped the girls with a pinata in the back yard. All in all a very fun evening to celebrate our twinkies turning 9!

Happy Birthday Mama Judy!!

We took a quick road trip this weekend to celebrate Mama Judy's birthday! Oh, how we love Mama Judy!! Me and the girls, my mom, and my sister D's family went to help her celebrate. We ate yummy brisket and had cake, of course, on Friday night. Then Saturday morning we all went out for breakfast at IHOP. All the girls would not rest until we had informed our waitress that it was Mama Judy's b-day. They brought her out a huge ice cream sundae, which she had one bite of, and then it was devoured by 4 little girls! We love you Mama Judy!! Thanks for letting us party with you!!

We're on vacaaaaaation!

Summer vacation that is! Today was the last day of school! It was a blast according to Susanna. The day started off with a huge assembly at the school for the last day. The first graders sang " We're on vacaaaaaation--V*A*C*A*T*I*O*N--in the summer sun!" and the second graders sang " Surfin USA". It was especially exciting to be there because Susanna received the Sunshine award for her class for the last 9 weeks. This award says that she excelled in: honesty, fairness, friendship, trust, compassion, integrity, responsibility, and respect, as well as an overall outstanding student! We are so proud of her and her accomplishments! We are also proud of Nan and Sam for all their hard work this year!! All the teachers we had this year were fabulous! We are excited for our summer BREAK!!!

Fun and Games

All week has been fun and games at school!! It's a good thing, 'cause no one feels like working! It's June!! Today was class party day. The girls enjoyed games outside, popsicles, and parties. One more day....I'm sleeping in on Friday!

Weekend Road Trip

To San Antonio! Our weekend was quick but super fun! We headed down to San Antonio for a wedding reception for one of my cousins on Saturday evening. We couldn't check into our hotel until 3, so Greg arranged a visit with one of his old friends who recently moved there. It was great to see Greg and his friend Ben reconnect! Ben and his wife and family treated us to swimming in their AMAZING community pool, which consisted of a big pool, lazy river, and splash/slide area WITH lifeguards! It is one of the nicest community pools I have ever seen--my girls were in heaven since swimming is their favorite activity EVER. Ben's family treated us to a great lunch by the pool and we truly enjoyed our time visiting with them. I could kick myself for not getting any pictures of Greg with his friend--oh well! Of course when we were done swimming, our car battery died--had to get a jump and take a trip to Wal Mart to get a new battery. We met up with my dad who helped Greg with that little side trip. Thank goodness it wasn't anything more serious! I have very little patience with car issues.

Later that evening we went to the reception--and my goodness was it ever lovely! SO fun to see cousins and old friends that you don't get to see very often! The reception was at my cousins home, which is RIGHT near the San Antonio temple and they have an amazing view of it from their back yard. LITERALLY the Angel Moroni reflects in the pool--very, very lovely and the perfect location for their daughters reception.

Now we are home. It is June 2nd and we still have 3 more days of school. There is something seriously wrong to still be in school in June!
