Lately....
The girls went to another daddy daughter dance with their dad. They love going out and spending time with him, and he loves spending time with them!

Sus has been playing basketball this season and loving it!

Greg and I went to the shooting range a few weeks ago with some friends. We had a great time shooting different types of pistols and rifles.

Nothing too exciting going on around here. I am ready for summer....it's still February.......

It did!!
It did turn into a roll brim hat! Although I must confess it's not perfect--it is a teensy bit too big. I will have to remember to adjust the stitches on the next one I make. I am excited to try again in a different color. I need some help with embellishment ideas. I am not very creative with things like that, so if you have any cute ideas PLEASE send them along!!!!

A project
I'm hoping that what looks like a ball of tangled mess will turn into a cute roll brim hat very soon! The girls expressed an interest in learning to knit, so I dusted off my knitting stuff (because it's been a VERY long time since I have knitted anything) and am trying to get them going. Of course this meant that I had to get myself going again--practicing stitches, joining rounds on circular needles, etc. When I have to change to double pointed needles here soon, we'll just hope for the best! The girls have succesfully completed casting on, and now we are moving on to knit and purl. Wish me luck. I may need a few diet cokes here soon!

End of year wrap up
Here are some of our holiday highlights:

SNOW! This was the second snow day we had over the holidays. The girls loved it and had a great time playing in it.

Samantha trying to catch snowflakes on her tongue--classic!!

One of the best things about our holiday season was getting to spend them with Greg's mom and dad, and his brother Carter. We enjoyed having them here very much!!

Christmas eve was spent at Lori's with the whole gang! Our family, Greg's mom, dad, and brother, Mama Leslie, Grandpappy, Mama Judy, and Lori's family! It was so fun to be all together! We had some fabulous appetizers, wassail and hot chocolate. We played "the game" which the girls look forward to all year!

Samantha and Mama Judy.

Having Uncle Carter around was a huge hit! The girls just love him and he was a great sport to spend time with them!

Christmas morning with the snuggies!

Greg serving up cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate on Christmas morning.

A white Christmas!! And a real blizzard-like storm on Christmas Eve. I guess the last time there was snow on Christmas was something like 83 years ago! So fun!

A rare picture of the girls with BOTH of their grandpas.

Susie's month
Happy 9th Birthday Sus!! Sus always says that her favorite month of the year is December because it's her birthday month. We celebrated with a home party of pizza, games and a movie.

Sus got a Snuggie from one of her friends for her birthday and I must say it is one of her favorite gifts ever! Who knew that a snuggie could bring that much joy?
Earlier in the month Susanna participated in the third grade performance of It's a Gingerbread Christmas at school. Sus had the part of "Grandmother" in the play and she did it so very well!! She had the most lines and even sang a solo!!! We were so proud of our performer!

***Greg and I got her a bouquet of flowers for after the performance. She absolutely loved them and must have thanked us 50 times for them. I think that was the best $9 we ever spent!!!***
